Dr. Eugene Fei, OD
Dr. Fei is a board-certified advanced practice optometrist and a Diplomate, American Board of Optometry. He is the founder of the Eye & Vision Clinic, LLC located in Wallingford, Connecticut. Prior to opening his clinic, Dr. Fei practiced in large multi-subspecialty ophthalmologists and optometrists groups with ambulatory surgery centers in Massachusetts and Connecticut, where he has worked very closely with top notch ophthalmologists sub-specialized in retina, glaucoma, cataract, corneal and refractive surgery for over 13 years in managing a wide variety of ocular diseases and pre- and post-operative care of shared patients. |
Dr. Fei also practiced ophthalmology in his native China, where he was an eye surgeon and physician practicing at a prestigious medical university eye center and training next generation Chinese ophthalmologists. He also worked alongside with the American ophthalmic surgeons in clinic and operation room while the Orbis Flying Eye Hospital visited China in 1989. He has published over 40 peer reviewed articles in various Chinese ophthalmology and medical journals and written book chapters for <<Chinese Ophthalmology>> and << Retinal Diseases>>.
Dr. Fei graduated with honors from an accelerated OD program of New England College of Optometry after attaining his medical degrees from China. He also received clinical honors in completing his optometry internships at the New England Eye Institute, the V.A. Medical Center Boston, the V.A. Boston Outpatient Clinic, Martha Eliot Health Center and the Joslin’s Beetham Eye Institute in Boston.
Prior to returning to his clinical career, Dr. Fei was an active eye researcher of the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Science at Yale and had publications in peer-reviewed eye and vision research journals and presentations at the annual meetings of the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology.
Dr. Fei is a selected member of the Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honor Society. He received William Feinbloom Low Vision Award, and selected as America’s Top Optometrist by Consumers’ Research Council of America. He is a member of the American Optometric Association and Connecticut Association of Optometrists. Dr. Fei gave invited lectures in medical school and hospitals in China and optometry schools in USA. He has also been involved in clinical training 4th year optometry interns from optometry school in USA.

STAFF
NESHA : An Eyewear Consultant at Sears (2014 to 2015) and a front office receptionist at Marinello school of beauty, has joined our clinic since this summer. Nesha is a Certified Esthetician since August 2015 and is skilled in facial and neck skin care. She takes care of our clinic’s front desk work, answering your phone calls, scheduling your appointments, checking you in and out, handling your health and vision insurance benefits, assisting with pre-testing and optical dispensing. Nesha speaks fluent Spanish.
ANGELYS: A Certified Nurse Assistant, joined our clinic since this summer. She has gained some clinical experience in RegalCare from January 2018 to April 2018, providing care for patients according to AODL and practicing HIPPA laws. She also has work experience as a cashier. Angelys handles our clinic’s front desk, answering phone calls, checking you in and out, interacting with your health and vision insurance plans, preparing patients to be seen by the doctor and assisting contact lens and glasses dispensing. She is bilingual, a Spanish and English Speaker.
BENJAMIN: A college sophomore who helps setting up the office during his summer tenure in our clinic. He runs the office phone service, installs and tests our office instrument and equipment, making sure they are working properly. He also helps arranging and maintaining contact lenses and frames/glasses supplies for the office.
